The
family of KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE Color Scanners turn affordable
production color scanning into a reality. Plus they offer
exceptional reliability, ease of use, and optional document
imprinting offered by the Scanner 3590/4500 series.

The
KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE Color Scanner 3590C and Color Scanner 4500
break the barriers of price and performance for color production
scanning. They scan at up to 85 pages per minute (ppm) (uniform
letter size or A4, landscape) with all the reliability, ease of
use, and affordability of the Scanner 3000 Series. They
share an industry- leading feeder and paper path that save time
and labor by virtually eliminating presorting, jams, and
rescans. The feeder accepts and feeds batches of mixed paper
sizes and weights. Its easy to add more pages to a stack during
scanning for continuous feeding.
Scan it right first time with color
Color capture enables the Scanner 3590C and Scanner
4500 to see the whole page. Virtually all the information on the
page is captured: highlighting, variations in background
densities and colors, hand-written annotations of every hue,
routing stamps, etc. In many cases, color scanning file size is
not much larger than equivalent black-and-white, so theres no
performance sacrifice for routing and storing color on your
network. during scanning for continuous feeding.
Dual-Purpose Color and Bitonal or Full Duplex Color
Pick What is Right for You.
The Color Scanner 3590C features bi-chromodal imaging,
a Kodak innovation. It scans the fronts of documents in color
and the backs in black and white. It can also be set to scan the
fronts in black and white. In addition, the Color Scanner 3590C
is designed to shift between color and black and white scanning
on the fly, making it ideal for batches with mixed documents.
The Color Scanner 4500 is available as a color-only simplex or
duplex scanner for capturing both sides of documents in color.

Pre-scan document imprinting is available on the Color Scanner
4500DP model to facilitate indexing, document tracking, and
proof of scanning. An innovative technology extends the use of
color scanning into forms processing applica-tions. Using ISIS
or TWAIN drivers, dual stream (150 dpi color and 200 dpi bitonal
images) output can be produced simultaneously. This allows for
simplex and duplex color scanning for accurate viewing fidelity,
plus optimum OCR/ICR recognition from bitonal scanning.
Operator-Friendly and Compatible with System and
Budgets.
A single button is all you push to run either color
scanner. On-board image processing maintains image quality
automatically. Training is fast and simple. The scanner comes
with an interactive CD, complete with video clips that instruct
and help guide operators through all scanner procedures. So
operator turnover isn't a problem. Industry-standard interfaces
and drivers bundled with the Color Scanner 3590C and Color
Scanner 4500 enable them to support a wide range of
applications. Best of all, they make color available at a very
affordable price. User-replaceable parts, such as lamps and
feeder rollers, help keep the cost of ownership low, too, by
minimizing downtime and service calls. Plus, both color scanners
are backed by worldwide service and support from Kodak (where
available).

-
Duplex color scanning —Color Scanner 4500D: color
capture extracts more of the critical information from both
sides of documents, without any operator adjustment for
clearer, easier-to-read images.
-
Bi-chromodal scanning—Color Scanner 3590C: captures
color content from the fronts of documents; black-and-white
data from the backs. Supports duplex black-and- white
scanning.
-
Reliable, forgiving paper transport— virtually
eliminates time-wasting interruptions and document
presorting to enhance throughput.
-
Simple operation— enables casual operators to be
productive with minimal training.
-
Quiet operation— is compatible with a front office
environment.
-
Flexible feeding— handles batches of mixed sizes and
weights from onionskin to card stock to save labor; allows
reloading while feeding for continuous scanning.
|
|
-
Automatic multi-feed detection— detects document
overlaps to prevent scanning errors.
-
Document imprinting—adds indexing and tracking
information to the front sideof documents prior to scanning
(Color Scanner 4500DP only).
-
User-replaceable service items— reduce service calls and
scanner downtime by allowing operators to swap rollers,
lamps, and guides without special tools or training.
-
Warranty— protects your productivity with service from
Kodak.
-
Scanner CD support— provides multilingual, online
training and help for operators in an informative text/video
format. Minimum: 6.4 x 6.4 cm (2.5 x 2.5 in.) Maximum: 66.0
